The Racket

There is no perfect racket to play Frescobol. It depends on the individuals’ personal preference. The Frescobol racket, however, should be made of wood, fibre or a similar material. It can be hollow or solid. The maximum length should be 50cm (including the handle) and the head size should not exceed the width of 25cm. The racket weight depends on each player, but on average it weighs around 300 to 400g. The grip type applied on to the handle is up to the individual.

The Ball

The Frescobol ball should be made of rubber, weighing around 40g and have 5.70cm of diameter (circumference of 17.70cm). As for the colour, you can choose any; it’s up to the team or event organiser.

The Sport’s Outfit

For a beach Frescobol competition the most suitable clothing is swimming shorts, bathing suit or bikini. When playing on indoor places, however, players should wear light shorts and t-shirt. On the beach, the players should be barefoot, but when playing on cemented areas, grass, earth or similar surfaces trainers should be worn.

At official competitions it’s obligatory to wear t-shirts. The players are allowed to wear caps, glasses, etc. The use of this apparel will depend on a previous evaluation by the referee committee or the event’s organisation.
